Pat Dunmore is a busy 53 year old from Essex, mother to Paul16 and Amanda 23 and wife to Geoffrey. Pat worked in the travel industry for 30 years, and took early retirement last year to concentrate on enjoying life! Having worked with young people Pat says “ I felt like a 30 year old but when I looked in the mirror it wasn’t a thirty year old looking back. I didn’t like what I saw. Giving up work also seemed to make me feel older and I felt my confidence slipping.” Pat felt that major surgery was not an option for her due to the risks and the cost implications.

Then Pat came across the GMTV website which was looking for models for cosmetic procedures. She contacted them and was introduced to Dr Lucy Glancey.
Pat explains “I visited Dr Glancey’s clinic in East Anglia for an initial consultation and she instantly put me at ease. She understood how I was feeling and asked me what I wanted to achieve from my treatment”.
Dr Glancey suggested the ‘Thread lift’ procedure for Pats mid face to lift and re position sagging tissue that had dropped with age. The aim was to give back Pat the youthful appearance that she felt she had lost.
Dr Glancey is one of only a few doctors in the UK who performs this revolutionary new procedure. She felt that it was the ideal solution to Pats problem.
Pat goes onto say “The thread lift appealed to me because it didn’t involve a general anaesthetic and I wouldn’t have to be cut and therefore no scarring. I also liked the idea that it was reversible and if I wasn’t happy I could go back to the way I was. After the consultation I felt really happy and had no worries about the procedure.”

Two weeks later Pat found herself back at the clinic ready for the thread lift procedure. “I really didn’t feel apprehensive at all, Dr Glancey’s team made me feel so comfortable and I was really looking forward to the finished results. Dr Glancey had explained that I would have 1-2 weeks ‘downtime’ but I wasn’t too concerned.”
“The procedure took about an hour and I was fully awake and chatting to the nurses throughout. I felt no pain only pressure from the surgeons hands. Immediately after the procedure I got up and I felt well enough to drive home, but Dr Glancey advised me to have companion to drive for me. I was given oral antibiotics to reduce any chance of infection.”
When Pat looked in the mirror immediately after the procedure she was a little surprised “I could see the lift, but I was very red and puffy. The local anaesthetic started to wear off after about 30 minutes but I felt no pain or discomfort. In the days that followed the swelling and redness decreased and I could see the true effect of the lift. I had one tiny bruise, but I had taken arnica tablets before the procedure. After 2 weeks you could then see the true effect of the lift and it took 1 month for my face to settle down completely.”
Pat is thrilled with the results “It’s fantastic, I look and feel great. I feel more confident and when I look in the mirror it’s me starring back! My friends and family have all complemented me on my new look and I would thoroughly recommend the procedure to anyone.”
